One lucky person down 'Goddard Avenue' has a fibre line to his house.. Somewhere near where that old newsagents used to be.. This is confirmed and apparently it was installed because this house needed it for 'Business purposes'..

All the same, if it's from KCOM it'll probably still only be quite slow. He's unlikely to be paying for the full speed of the fibre.

Possibly not Dylan, My point was that money talks! And obviously KCOM are willing to fit fibre to homes if really needed and someone can afford it, Not sure how they managed to get it to his home though?

If you look at the business price list you will see how much the business services cost. There is a connection fee for the services which includes the installation fees, such as KC digging, ducting, and fibre blow pipes from the nearest joint...
It is, and always has been available, for a price.

If this customer has this product KC MUST provide it to everyone that requests it as part of their Ofcom oversight. It also has to be published on the KC website.
Be good to find out exactly what product they have from KC.
KC have / do illegally offer bespoke products for a day and then remove them from their website if it involves potentially losing business through competion where their published prices arn't competitive or in solving a customer complaint.
I know a few !!!!

@ Project Novo
The house is one of the ones that was next to the old newsagents down that street. Not sure what the connection speeds are but even so it just goes to show that KC can set up individual houses for the right money.

Well it appears to be listed in the 2nd link that Adrian posted, just wouldn't fancy having to take out a mortgage just to get a fast internet connection.

Seems like another KC dodgy deal to me. There is no way they would put in fibre unless there was a competitative threat or maybe its an FTTP test !!!!

Although fibre Internet products are in KC's business catalogue I imagine KC will sell them to private customers who can afford the ridiculous prices!
For anyone who didn't read Adrian's earlier post, you might not have noticed what the prices are....
First off, if you don't already have existing fibre to your premises, KC will charge a £4,700.00 connection charge (including VAT).
A one year contract for a 2Mb/s connection would then cost you £11,056.75... If you wanted to sign yourself up for a 5 year contract for a 10Mb/s connection however it'd cost you £25,803.00 a year..
Get your cheque book out!
