Hi,

Is anyone else having trouble streaming video from 4oD or 4oD Youtube? I can't even watch standard youtube videos without first letting them download by pausing them without getting constant buffering.

I am getting speedtests constantly between 5Mb/s to 7.5Mb/s yet I can't stream after 6pm from 4oD. Sad Can't even keep a 381kbps stream going without constant pausing.

So as part of the Sam Knows Speed monitoring test this year, my connection looks great yet when I want to use it for something meaningful other than a speedtest like streaming video forget it.

Grrrr. I need to do some testing off peak to see if its any better but I noticed bbc iplayer normally drops to its lowest possible quality before it streams properly too.

Tried it wirelessly on a PS3, my netbook and wired on my desktop PC. All the same.

Cheers,

Hi Stormy,

Have responded to your previous post under subject 'slow speeds today' as follows:-

The problem with streaming 4oD content is now fixed.
The fix works for both channel4.com and Youtube.
Please try again during peak times and post your feedback.
Most internet video streaming services are still under development and changes are usually made without informing ISPs, so thanks for drawing this to our attention.

We will investigate further to see if we can address the issues you are seeing with standard Youtube videos and iPlayer buffering.

Regards

Thanks FKCE I will try and stream the same episode and report my findings.

Edit: Well that did the trick, seems to work fine now on 4oD and 4oD Youtube. Thanks.

Edit: iPlayer is always working very well at the moment

So thanks KC, lets hope it continues! Smiley
