Connexin is very good. The only difference I notice from a normal land line is it takes around 4 seconds once you dial a number, for it to start ringing. I did notice echo on the first call I made but none since. It was as though it was doing an initial set up. I could be wrong because I know absolutely nothing about this technology.

I'm very pleased with it though. The pay as you go is right up my greedy street. At this rate I'm going to have to top up another tenner in around a years time.  Grin

My Airnet PAP2 has now had any problems lately.  Had a blip when first set up as it lost connection after 30 mins or so, but Ricky did some tweaking with the setting through remote connection and its been working fine ever since.

Have you had Ricky check it over?  (Although it can take a few days to get a response lately!)

No not as yet psa...I don't use the VOiP phone TBH but the wife uses it and just reported that it's not been right since Ricky installed it... Sad I'll mention it to Ricky shortly, as you say it may just need "Tweaking"... Smiley

It's the one hullnet put me onto http://www.talkip4u.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=26 I ordered it at 1:05pm on the Monday and it came the next morning. Smiley

It's really easy to set up, Just enter your provider details and away you go.

It also has a normal line in for a land line so if you use both land line and VoIP, you can use the same phone. Can't co wrong for £10+VAT

Yesterday 5th January, was the first 3 months of having a voip phone line.

In that time we've made 53 local calls and 1 premium rate call. Cost, £2.93p for local and £1.18p for premium rate - Total cost £4.11p inc VAT This includes free caller display and free voice messaging.

My last KC bill covering 3 months. 49 local calls and 2 special rate calls. Cost, free for local and 37p for special rate. £31.89 for line rental, 62p for tariff revision, £2.55p for caller display and £5.97 VAT - Total cost £40.11p

A saving of £36 quarterly  Smiley

If I could port my number I'd go with it... The line rental fees are crippling!

Does that mean take your KC number to a voip supplier? I thought this was possible at a cost? Have you looked into it, Rich?

Not something I've looked into, it's theoretically possible but from what I've heard in practice it's not.

Well, although the above in bold was meant as a joke, I wasn't a million miles off. I started using VoIP on the 5th October 2010 when I took up the pay as you go service from Connexin. I have just checked my account and noticed my current balance is £9.99 (out of my £20 initial top up).

So, over the past 8 months 12 days my phone service has cost me £10.01p It's just a shame one of the calls was a premium rate call made by my son to cancel mobile phone insurance or I think I could have really sneaked up on the year.
