When is kc going to start rolling out fttc or ffth connections such as bt are doing, plus alot of others isp's are offering upto 40meg download and 10meg upload.
Will this ever happen or is it a distant dream?

10yrs roll out, in 2020 it will be outdated again, so maybe just straight to ffth "fibre to the home"
year 2020 would could be running 500meg with the likes of bt and virgin products.

I doubt they will do ftth, ever. They should, it would put Hull on the map for all the right reasons but hey as long as people keep paying kc they're happy to take it and provide minimal service.

I dont believe it will take 10years that is just the time scale set. I believe within 1/2 years Kingswood and all the rural villages will be FTTC.

Kingswood Have very slow connection speeds believe it or not. This is one reason behind it, And its all to do with planning as well. Given that Kingwood is a newish estate i believe it had something to do with easier access. I'd have to ask him again to be certain though.

Kingswood is one of the first areas as broadband round there is pretty poor due to the long lines, having to go all the way back to the Bransholme exchange. Makes sense to supply better broadband to the slowest areas first... Priory Park as well as a few other areas are already on the list...

@adamr8965
The way it was explained to me was that replacing the copper signal from the exchange points to the cabinets will be like reducing the distance.. So 500metres for example will become 50metres (ie: time is takes for information to travel through the fibre).. So in turn it will have a huge impact on Line attenuation..
Not everyone will receive 24mbps but everybody 'will see' a considerable improvement.
