Reading here I can see that I am not the only one having problems with Karoo. I have no problems with the service at any time during the day, but every night...and I mean every night....trying to use the internet is a definite no go. I am sick of being told that my 'ST 510 Gadget' is not connected, when I know darned well that it is. Being timed out and generally not allowed to go anywhere.
Yet, during the day from 7am to around 6pm I do anything and go anywhere that I want. Something definitely wrong here, but what? Tried last night at 10pm and gave up at 12 midnight......and that was to try and log onto Karoo. Anyone any answers?

Well firstly, I suggest you speak to Karoo Tech Support on 606101.

Failing that and if you are wanting people on here to troubleshoot for you then I shall ask the first question. When your internet isn't working, what are the lights on your ST510 doing?

Are you on the old MAX packages like me?

After 6pm till 12am Midnight Karoo enforce strict packet shaping giving top priority to their newer packages and basicly screwing over people on the old MAX packages. Even though we still pay the same price as the people on the new packages... Karoo at its best.

His description doesn't suggest he is having slow access.

Well would you believe it? Here I am at 10:50pm having been able to log on and read the answers to my query. Maybe I am dreaming so I shall hurry up and slip this reply in before the spell wears off.

I do not think I am on the 'old MAX' system because normally things work pretty fast for me. Looking back I think the problems I am having only started around two months ago. The lights on my ST510? Just now they seem stable. But over the last ten nights, as soon as it got to around 10pm the last one which is the Internet lamp out of the four would seem very reluctant to light up and stay lit. I have tried the old routine of switching off and then back on again (very technical at 78 aint I?) but it did no good. My phone connections are good and I cannot believe that this is the problem. But just now things are go go go and I am not complaining, but for how long? Hope what I have said makes sense? Many thanks for the replies.

Sounds like snr is dropping too low in an evening, your internet speeds may be a little bit too fast for the line. Get in touch with KC and let them know you're experiencing disconnections on an evening, they should be able to put two and two together and investigate whether your line is the wrong profile.

At 78 I'd say you're doing well, my grandad gets in touch with me for anything wrong with his computer... Including how to turn it on!!

"lamp" lol Smiley - as richardmyers says, it could be the extra noise in the evenings which is causing you problems, and is something tech support on 606101 will be able to see and help you out with Smiley

Unfortunately there are also a few other factors which could be causing this such as possibly faulty micro filter, extension wiring etc.. best bet would be to speak to tech support.
