Just tested my connection using the independent iPlayer diagnostics page and the speedtest.net test hosted on a Kingston Comms server. Who'd have thought it, the results are totally different  Roll Eyes

Here's what speed the Karoo test server at speedtest.net reports

And here's what speed the BBC iPlayer speedtest reports

Hmmmm. Anyone else get similar results at peak times?

Yeah mines the same ,dont know how to get the BBC iPlayer results in here ,tried but failed ?

ds= 912
ss1=1020
ss2=420
ss3=972
only says I can do 500kbps video and radio ! however thats not true because even very low kbps video stutters on an evening ,

Could it be an issue with router ports at all?

Although saying that I do get similar results with the DL half that of speedtest.net

El, since when is 10:55am peak time? hehehe.

Dylan, I have always had wavering faith in the speedtest.net results, sometimes seems as if its white listed by the trafic shapers at times. The BBC results are consistantly lower than speedtest.net for me at peak times.

Of course, its magified 10 fold on Karoo Max (8Mbps service) which is generally crippled at peak times for me.

testing on airnet seems to give better results with the Iplayer then speed test.net

i wonder if this is because speed test is for adsl and iplayer is for all internet connections

Be thankful you are not on Max, if I have chance I will run the same tests, they are much worse than that. Smiley
