I think they know, that they have to do something.

As word spreads of other providers, KC need to up their game, and maybe giving good bundle prices is their first step.

Next they should focus on other things like not throttling speeds, and limiting downloads!
Oh wait, let me wake up from my dream state - that will never happen.

Yea the throttling seems to have become quite harsh again lately, I'll be raising this at the next advisory meeting. However I think there is ongoing improvements being made to the network so we may just have to wait it out...

I would like for Karoo to stop punishing the older packages for a start, its unusable after 6pm (when its most needed), this is totally uncalled for and scandalous since they still charge full price for an unusable connection. The older packages already have a lower speed compared with the newer adsl2+ packages so why take it even further by heavy traffic shaping?

As far as sitting and waiting it out, it would be nice if Karoo would 'communicate' with their region what plans they have in the near future. Are they going to even try to compete with the new services? Why don't they do their own wireless service is what I want to know, the state of most landlines is appauling in my area. Do they even plan to roll out fibre optic to the home or cabinet? What are they going to do (probably nothing) about the lacklustre speeds almost everyone is getting especially at peak times? I find it hard to believe there are that many people comming online at the same time to do hardcore browsing (Streaming/downloading large files) that slows the net so much.
Not only speed but download limits, they're ridiculously low for this day and age when more and more are streaming HD, downloading HD movies etc etc. Ok most can't do that on Karoo because of the slow connections but if they were faster, their monthly usage would sky rocket as more things become available.

Message to Karoo: Get your act together!

You wouldn't see an improvement on ADSL2+ and your bills would probably go up.

How come nobody has tested AirNet on this BBC iPlayer test yet? Does it fail or something? I think it's a joke, we have three providers now and none of them are any good, I remember 1995, we were the internet capitol of Great Britain back then, but now we are the laughing stock. I can run HD-1080p fine on my ADSL1 connection.

These bundles are a joke also, what a waste of time.

Did you know there are people on these forum who work for the ISPs - you know who you are.

There has been some Airnet tests done on the iplayer test. They've been posted in the Airnet speed test thread.

Airnet has been tested and most passed with flying colours.

Other than Ricky, NextGenUs and Karoo these are the only folks working for the ISPs that I'm aware of, are there others? FKCE used to be active here but I don't think he is anymore.

I dunno, my Dad is on ADSL2+ gets 14Mbps on his line and his speeds blow mine away on ADSL1 and seems to suffer from much less throttling.

My line when FKE tested it was capable of 17Mbps as its pretty new and is close to the exchange. I bet I would see a massive improvement on ADSL2+ although I will wait to see what these bundles actually offer before I jump.

Airnet while looks ok seems to have rubbish (in comparision) latancy to what I get now, and NextGen, and I want my connection to maintain a decent latency. Plus no idea when one of these services will be available in Brough, might be more than 18 months away for all I know!
