Kingston Communication offering a connection of 19MB on their ADSL2 service, hmm, I guess traffic shaping doesn't effect users on Bransholme or neither does interference on their lines.
I must say @MickyByte i've never actually seen any form of traffic shaping on my service? Not in the several years i've used it. Not to say this isnt the case but is it somehow possible some users avoid the wrath of the KC shaping?

There is a user on here, @adam (something at the end of his name), Who connects at 20mb and has a throughput of 18.8mbps.. So thats pretty close. This whole mediasat3 thing will just be FTTC, so will shorten distances for some users on some exchanges, So the affect will not be positive for everyone.

As far as i'm aware the two main hotspots for better KC connection speeds are 'Hessle' and 'Driffield'..

Never affected me i lived next door to the main exchange on bransholme
16Mb was my MAIN speed but i had all sorts of reading from 19Mb to 14Mb ill be moving back onto bransholme soon so ill post some results once i do
This is why i dont understand why you never saw the same speeds as me micky you live in a 16Mb hotspot for karoo, it could be because when i moved in i had all the wiresss redone and lots of internal and external work cause the old tennants cut all the wires lol, But again you get 12mb from airnet i never even got 10mb so its just the same really, i guess traffic shaping doesnt effect rickys friends

Fiber to the exchange not the cabnet so i dont think it will effect anyone at all, unless i got it wrong and it is to the cabnet then speeds will be better, fttx and fttc are 2 very diffrent things although i could be wrong, its all a guessing game at the moment ms3 are not giving too much information out yet, we will just wait and see, But still it will be nice to get sky tv,phone and broadband all for the same price

Did someone call my name? Yes i have connection speed of just over 20meg. Was on a 3db noise margin with a connection speed of 21meg but was to unstable. ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 20479 kbps 1023 kbps Line Attenuation 24.5 db 11.0 db Noise Margin 4.9 db 11.9 db I dont suffer from any traffic shaping at all and get this sort of speed test result. Yes i am in driffield. Im a bit cheesed off at the moment, sky have just unbundled the exchange here, sky unlimited £7.50 with sky talk free time and line rental £11 Im on the kc talk n surf £30 per month, never mind.

Considering your line attenuation as well thats an incredible speed, The copper from your house to the cabinet must be really good.. I'd expect someone with an attenuation below 15db to get those kind of speeds.

The copper is less than 6 months from the house, it was a brand new line and the cabinet is fairly close by, about 1/4 mile at most.
Theres alot of people connection to kc up the street all hitting around 15-19meg.
About 15 meg is the normal speed in driffled.

It seems karoo's service is much better where people have a choice of provider. Not many people in driffield would put up with sub 10meg service, when we have lots of excellent providers here.
My parents live in market weighton, and althought they dont have adsl2+ speeds their upto 8meg speeds is also flat out at any time of the day.
