Interesting, Nice find @stormy.
I do believe its not a good time for companies to make an entrance with all these new FiWi companies coming in now but who knows it may be useful to some current Karoo users..
I read this topic about fibre laying in Hull already.
Fibre Map
Fibre Route: Below is a map detailing our initial next generation fibre route network that we have recently commissioned, we expect our first services to go live quarter one 2011. At present this is a business only service but when we interconnect our fibre with the KC network we will be in a position to allow all the customers of Hull a choice of ISP's with a service that utilizes the speed of our interconnect with the rest of the country.
We will be publishing an indication of our prices very soon as we are just finalizing the details. We will be offering a very fast ethernet connection, uncontended and for some options all calls!

Sean Royce, " the company welcomes competition" "KC does not object to selling access to its networks to other companies to enable them to provide broadband in Hull" "It would be good to have further competition in Hull." Sean Royce ...AKA pinocho ...

Not that it bothers me now, but I notice they aren't going anywhere near Bricknell/Hotham/Fairfax/Cottingham Road etc

dam just missed me that does o well i think i stick with that good supplier karoo lol They're the best in the city I hear Fingers crossed this all goes through, we've heard this all too many times before from other 'suppliers'. This time they do seem serious though, fixed line competition in Hull - that'll be a momentous day.

It says they're interconnecting with the KC network so anyone can use it.. their route just goes out of the city on their fibre so you can get Sky, Virgin, whatever etc. I believe?

Hmmm, so does that mean we will have to pay 3 seperate companies? 1. KC for the line rental as normal, 2. MediaSat3 for the interconnect between KC and A.N.Other and 3. Said A.N.Other be it Sky or whoever? Is it just me or does that sound expensive? Surely I thought MediaSat would be providing the broadband and telephone service, not just reselling it to someone else?

MediaSat3 MD = Tony Hales. Tony Hales = British Waterways chairman. British Waterways aim = .... to provide the network with a new lease of life..... it all makes sense!
