I think you should just watch this video because it explains what ACTA promptly means:

I will like to hear your thoughts on this issue, I personally was almost sick when I first heard about it.  Angry

Although there's probably truth in that report. It was Russia today.  Roll Eyes  My son watches that channel mostly for the comical reporting and over exaggerating the facts.

That said. The laws were always going to catch up with the internet at some point. It can't be allowed to carry on as it is. What we heard in that report was the extreme of what will inevitably come.

The whole idea is ridiculous and almost impossible to enforce, as well as a complete waste of money, where it could be spent on real problems facing the world today.

The majority of the world will have some sort of file on their computer or media player, which they did not obtain how they should have, what do they plan to do? World wide search of every lap top & music player?

It would get to a stage where you would be scared to listen to your iPod in public, in-case of being searched.
Personally, I think that they should spend money where it is need, stopping criminals and preventing wars - not prioritizing police time in searching hard-drives.
If you did get searched while out & about, how could they prove you didn't own the CD at home?

Lol, this won't happen in the British Empire, we will not allow such nonsense... Oh wait.

Something like this is alread happening anyway, find a clean machine and open CMD, type netstat -a and look for 1e100.net

Google is your friend, that weird friend that watches you, they watch you torrent, they watch you eat, they watch you sleep and probably watch you pee or something as well.

The reason why I do not agree with ACTA is because of how it disregards the foundation on which the internet was founded on, neutrality.

I have listened to Dan Bull musical compositions before and he usually takes the correct standpoint with these types of issues.

As Tim Berners-Lee once stated, please dont live in the past, fast forward to the present and contribute.

You know it's funny if i goto lets say the times online website and view it's content via my network and even my browser then under ACTA i have broken the law! My browser and proxy server makes copies of the content and caches it so i don't have to download it again if it has not changed, so what they going to do?

Correct, he also believed in sharing. Hence why the World Wide Web took off like it did. if he had kept it to him self or sold it to a corp' the internet as we know it probably wouldn't exist.
