This is a copy of an e-mail I have just sent to the Kug:=

A short while after rebboting my router I did a test download from Microsoft.com and achieved the grand old speed of 72KB/Sec.
From Karoo test downloads I achieved 868KB/Sec, I have tried loads of other Http downloads to verify that it is not just Microsoft site that is at fault, all Http are below 1 meg, which proves to me that Karoo have in their own sweet way screwed things up again.
This is on top of the outage of last weekend which nothing was mentioned about by them at all, they were down from midnight Friday  until about 11am Saturday.
Can you please comment on this situation and try to get Karoo to stop going down the tubes and ripping us customers off. Thank You

I am down to sub 1 meg speeds on Http again and I thought that Http was to be protected from shaping or throttling.
his is my 8meg speed test result   http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results/id/12027639858329643948.html

Well it would seem to me another example of Krapoo trying to save money on their internet costs, rate limit everyone during peak hours and they'll save shed loads of money.

Have you tried downloading anything via HTTPS (SSL)?

No they won't cause I will make them suffer during the night by downloading as many copies of Linux as I can find Smiley
Ssl is just as bad.
The Kug have replied that they have asked Krapoo regarding this issue and are waiting for a reply from them.

The speed test you are using seems to be at fault, I get a similar reading to you and my router stats are:

Downstream       Upstream

Data rate (Kbps)
8128                   448

Noise margin (dB)
6.1                  27.0

Output power (dBm)
19.8                 11.9

Attenuation (dB)
42.0    26.5

Try using http://www.speedtest.net You will get a more reliable result from this service, Hope i was of help
