It makes me laugh when KC say they are good value in Hull, they are quite clearly fleecing us for all they can get as they HAVE to compete in Driffield.

Angry, yes very. They are quite disgusting to be honest, a local company with local values? Bullshit. Sad

Hi Stormy.

Off course KC can get away with it as they have a monopoly in Hull and in light of Ofcom illegally permitting KC to bundle services , Ofcom will not level the playing field to force KC to publish true wholesale access pricing to allow communications providers to provide both broadband and narrowband (the phone line) services directly to end users over the KC local network as BT have have been forced to do.

http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/products/wlr/wlr3/wlr3.do

The forcing of KC to publish wholesale pricing should have been a pre requite requirement in Ofcom permitting  KC to offer bundled lines, calls and broadband services.

Ofcom should never have been permitted to allow KC to bunde as KC still posess significant market power in all markets and which now also means that end users will be tied into longer term contracts.

All bundling will do is help remove the threat of the current competition from the likes of Airnet, The Mobile Point and Nexus and to continue to act as a barrier to entry form others seeking to enter the Hull market.

We have missed the November date but why not turn up en-mass at the meeting on Sunday December 12th at 10am and 1pm.
At least we can show the people of Driffield what sort of company they are and negate the good press they get. Angry

To be honest if the bundles for KC home network users were as good as Driffield I would be happy, the bundles we are offered are poor and offer seriously bad value for money compared to Driffield.

I wont even be taking a KC bundle because they don't offer me what I need so bring on the competition I say.

If NextGenus could provide a wireless service to Brough, lets face it they are struggling to provide anyone with installs in Hull then I would jump at the chance.

Hi  M

Have a chat with with Guy or Simon at NextGenus / Fibrestream. I know that they have been very very busy with building FTTP (Fibre To The Premise) networks outside Hull where the cash is to help fund the Hull network expansion. However, if there are sufficient numbers that would be interested in taking a wireless broadband service with possible plug and play VoIP service then I am sure the network investment would be made locally as their main POP location serving a number of premises in Hull is just off Analaby Road.

KC wont provide the same service pricing in Hull to those KC customers outside the original KC network area since there is no competition in Hull.
