Still a bit pricey compared with what you can have on a LLU BT line.

    * Free local calls 24/7
    * Free UK national calls on evenings & weekends
    * Superfast broadband speeds with 30GB monthly usage allowance
    * 120 mins per month free calls to UK mobiles
KC Price £29.99

    * Free UK landline and Global Calls calls 24/7
    * upto 24meg with 40GB monthly usage allowance
Utility Warehouse Price £19.99

I don't think they are value for money at all for those that use a decent amount of bandwidth.

I wouldn't have been any better off.

I for one will not be going with the bundle, I thought for a second that KCOM may use this as an oppotunity to get in the real world and offer packages that are competative with what is offered outside the hull area, but supprise supprise they havent!!!

I, like others only have the land line for my ADSL and with last bill showing 3 calls and a bill for £36 it does not offer really good value for money, Why have they not done a bundle for ADSL users that dont want all the addional fone services etc. (maybe line rental, no free calls but more bandwidth)

But then should not have really expected anything else from Kcom,,, I will just keep on hoping and praying that BT/Sky/virgin move into the area.

KC bundles don't offer enough granularity or choice. It's one extreme to another (either 30GB or 150GB on the Internet side of things or example).

I'd save £1.50 a month over what I'm spending now, but would benefit from a load of free calls I wouldn't use (I only generally use the landline for local calls) and an extra 50GB of bandwidth I wouldn't use (because I'm not a heavy downloader) and would find myself stuck into an 18 month contract....

Not enough to tempt me into signing another contract with KC. I think I'll just wait it out.

its the 18 months contract i hate the most, i think kcom and trying to tie people in to a deal so that when compertition does finally come to the area people will be locked in so cant leave,, needs to be a lot more than £3 a month saving to try and entice me into such a naff deal.

See, the problem here is that OFCOM/The Law won't allow them to make the price any lower "In case of deterring competition".

true,,, outside providers are not rushing to Hull to snap up 100k potential customers, were small fry to them and it would also be a costly outlay with no potential recoverf of said outlay.  Grin

You would think that with all the resources KC have at their disposal they would proof read the content first before they publish it.

- They have duplicated the Caller Display and 1571 information on the residential bundle pricing page
- What is a Dynamis IP Address !  - Is this a new product so that KC can justify the higher price's charged by them in Hull ? (On the businsss bundle pricing page).

The productisation of the bundles is so so confusing. If in doubt people will do nought !

Instead of investing £4M on the refurbishment of Telephone House I would suggest that they need to invest £60,000 on a proper Technical Author and Product Manager!

Maybe they actually mean "bungles" and not "bundles" !

We're currently on KC Anytime for phone (£20/month), and Mid 2 for broadband (£20/month). At first I was tempted by the Home Xtra package, as it's the same price as what we're paying now but gives you 150GB a month instead of 30GB, so the same as Pro 2. Then I noticed the 18 month contract. Sod that Wink

Is the 18 month contract really an issue?  I made the switch to the home package as it saves me a bit in the short term and I don't foresee any alternatives in the 18 month window.
