Ed Vaizey has given the go ahead for ISPs to manipulate traffic to their commercial advantage according to BBC news

This means that your ISP can throttle high bandwidth sites like Youtube and BBC iPlayer unless they pay for premium access to their consumers.

He reckons that the market will rectify any misuse through competition;

Quote
"The essential competition we enjoy in Europe and especially in the UK, will be an essential safeguard against unfair discrimination," he argues.

Can anyone spot an issue with this assumption where Karoo's area is concerned?  Anyone have any ideas how we could raise the visibility of the matter?

He's obviously never heard of Hull

He also argued that, that unlike in the US where some areas only had the choice of one service provider, there was enough rivalry between providers to ensure consumers' rights were protected.

I suggest writing to your MP to ask him/her to put your point forward. I know I will. http://www.writetothem.com

LOL its already heavily throttled. Can things really get much worse, if mine does I will lose all internet connectivity after 8pm. All the streaming services are next to useless already at peak time on my Max connection. Thankfully I can play Eve instead.
