On an evening (basically from when kids leave school) I have problems with websites not loading the first time, flash and other AV streams stopping for no reason and also messenger suffers connection problems.

As far as I can see I'm not the only person this is happening to since all my friends on messenger (all Karoo users) disappear at once.

Some things don't appear to be affected though, some websites work fine.

My connection to Karoo is steady as a rock it hasn't gone down.

Hi LegendofPhil, it sounds like a proxy problem.  Do you have the proxy server option checked in your browser?

Take a look at this thread -
info about proxies

Read through the problem and follow the instructions and see if it works, if you need further clarification then feel free to post on here for more instructions etc..

Hey guys, this sounds like one for the wiki - i.e. the symptons and solution to Krapoo's poxy server.

If i get a chance tomorrow i will do a load of screen shots and start a wiki entry..

lol.. that told me...
right,
what karoo package are you on?
Where abouts do you live?
what router are you using?
What OS is the PC running.
Does it happen every day, and if so what time?
Does it happen to all protocols?  Can you stream any videos, music (radio from bbc etc) or if you use p2p like azerus doe s it die as well?

If you use a router can you post your info page - the one with signal to noise ratio etc..
Do you have micro filters in every phone socket that has a phone attached?
If you use a router, is the router plugged into the master socket?
If yes to above how long is the jr11 cable connecting it.?

Lots of questions but all of the above will provide a wealth of info that the techys on this site may be to use to solve your problem..

Heres hoping..

I solved it, I think.
I installed Firefox 2.0.0.5 instead of .12 and it works uber quick.
