Lo peeps,
i seem to be having trouble with torrenting, i am being honest that i don't use torrent for music, movies or any other copyrighted material, this is the first time i've booted it up for around a year and was in fact using a well outdated utorrent client that needed updating.
last night i started to download (using the dated utorrent) the patch for latest version of the Cinematic Mod for half-life 2 (v10.94 61.9mb) plus the 8.58gb full install of the previous version (v10.90) as i haven't updated the mod since an early version 9, it's a free mod for the game HL2 which i own through Steam.
the v10.94 downloaded fine without a hitch but the full install of the previous v10.94 got to 26% and i paused it last night as i went to bed around 03:00 so all the downloading was off peak, i then resumed the download again before i went to work today but it won't actually download further then 26%. i updated the utorrent client with no success stuck at the same 26% so i deleted the data and started again but it says downloading 0.0% and has the infinity sign for the ETA. uninstalled utorrent and tried bit torrent but i have exactly the same problem the download does not seem to want to start. tried rebooting computer and router still the same.
i was wondering if it is possible that Karoo could be blocking me downloading this material? is p2p a big no no? are they allowed to block programs that are used legitimately? i'm not an expert with torrenting and just use it maybe once a year for this sort of occasion as i am a nerd gamer but i don't download games illegally, i own a shed load on my Steam account but to download a file 8 and a half gig through the other means of rapidshare in all its tiny parts will take an age and a day so torrent is the fastest solution.
if yer interested in the mod to see that it's legit material
http://www.cinematicmod.com/cm_10.php but if i'm breaking forum rules with the link mods can edit and just search fakefactory cinematic mod in google.
any help appreciated
