The post above specifically says: At the moment there are no plans for MS3 to operate a FTTX service FTTX means Fibre to the 'x' - this includes fibre to the cabinet, fibre to the premises, fibre to the home etc.. This means that any competition will have to be delivered over ADSL type technologies.. Fair play then - it will just be a case of similar speeds but different provider you pay your money to. its rather A, nextgenus or B, move house C, 4g dongel I was planning on moving anyway its i recon its gonna be option B Option A, is a no go for now after the bad experiance i wanna avoid this option, Option C, well i dont know when this is going to come in Off topic - but given we're in Hull, and the North of the country, I wouldn't expect 4G any time soon!

From the facebook page looks like MS3 is hotting up nicely, and the claim is telephone and broadband (18Mbps via LLU) will be around £25 a month.
No real details yet so will reserve judgement..

i was informed that if its llu and not to the cabnet, it doesnt matter what speeds karoo offer you will get just the same speeds with another provider, MS3 say this is wrong cause the software in the exchange is upgraded and its direct fiber, ill wait and see

Tell her to stop telling us we can get BT in Brough please mate. Yeh, I am dubious about the speed claims though, although my line should do 17Mbps with KCON anyway, so if they can provide that, with a decent but not silly amount of data per month (upto 40-50Gb) and a reliable service then I would love to move. Mike you can get bt in brough We received a letter from BT today, addressed to "The Householder" with no street address so must have been delivered by hand. It's just the ordinary marketing bumph about their phone and broadband services, but as far as I was aware we can't even get BT where we are (Brough), so I called them out of curiosity.
The girl checked my postcode and landline number, and said that we could get "from 0.5 to 8 Mb/s", but as it's only just been made available recently they're unable to estimate an actual speed. We get up to 15 Mb/s with Karoo and to be honest we're quite happy with it apart from the price so don't think we'll bother just yet, but was wondering how BT can be offering their services round here?

I get Virgin Media letters here too, Oh and Sky Broadband, I can't get those services either. No one in Brough can get a BT line as far as I know, there is no exchange here and no link to the South Cave one unless BT start digging the roads up, which they have not, and won't do. Whoever told you otherwise appears to be miss informed. BT even go so far as letting you order the line install, but then it mysteriously gets cancelled or vanishes from the system. If you can actually find someone in Brough who has sucessfully had a BT line installed, then I will believe you.

So no, BT is not available in Brough no matter how many times you keep saying it is. If it was I would have had it years ago, believe me. So the "girl" above must be getting LLU services on the Brough exchange from KC, awesome. Sign me up because in that case BT should be available on all the KC exchanges. If you can actually find someone in Brough who has sucessfully had a BT line installed, then I will believe you. The source someone on this forum who has been offerd a bt line maybe you should pm them and see what happend http://karooforums.net/index.php/topic,1406.0.html

Its not possible to get a BT line, he'd get an install date and everything if he proceeded. He would never get the line though and it would be cancelled eventually.
Still if I can get MS3 in Brough and its decent I will be happy enough.

Good news, lets hope it delivers and is competative pricing with Karoo (although surely thats not hard!)

I've read up on MS3 quite a lot past few days. By Q1 next year, MS3 will hope to be offering FTTB (Fibre to the building) to businesses which are located on their fibre route. They want to then start offering it to residential users soon after, but only if you are on their fibre route - which can be found here; Fibre Route - MS3By June/May time, they hope to be able to offer residential users a choice of ISP by using a LLU system at your exchange. This means freeing you from the claws of Karoo, and enabling other providers to be able to come and give you a broadband connection. Examples could include: Sky & Virgin The connection to your property however, will still be copper. However, when managed better, more can be provided by copper, and the backhaul will be separate to KC, and the network will be less contended and generally work better for users.

I hate to be pessimistic, I mean im glad they're finally upgrading and allowing LLU, but I still think more needs to be done... FttC at least. I mean we have been pumping money into the KC machine at extortionate rates long enough for them to have enough money for it surely?
As for choice of ISP im not sure if thats what I really want, I just want an ISP that can give me good speeds 10Mb+ up/down at least along with a low ping. Not to mention at a reasonable price and stable.
P.S. That Fibre Map is comming along nicely, anyone for a splice?
