I agree with Jamadams the prices seem to be a little distracting and could easily sway people away from singing up towards their service. Although I will have to give MediaSat credit were its due, they have managed to break into this city in a manner of speaking and offer a broadband service without having to relying upon customers to either give out flyer's, spread the word or dig trenches.  Wink

Thankfully given the nature of the service they can't sign people up who can't actually receive a decent level of service, unlike some who we've seen recently  Wink

I'd wait until when/if MediaSat 3 say something before kicking off about it.

Agreed 100%. Let's just wait and see what is announced before making any judgements on MediaSat3 or the service they may or may not be able to provide. Fingers crossed in my point of view, it sounds like competition is on the way; I hate the waiting game though!

My point still stands BTW Rich, although if people like myself were to choose between the vast variety of providers in this city it certainly would be those that use Ubiquiti Nanostation (WIFI) technology in general. Wink

Couldn't agree more! Once you go wireless, and get a good service like we do, you don't look  back.

I don't game :-( Besides there's only one test I would be happy to perform... Stick dunny in front of my connection and let him play black ops, await the result!

RichardMyers Call of Duty Black Ops isn't worth testing on your connection my friend, I suspect even your Nano station would be offended to handle traffic from that poor excuse for a shooter. Back on topic however, I would also like to know how Hobbinband got this information about MediaSats' broadband prices.

Gents what your not getting is that the One Point Group and Media Sat will be selling a white label product from KCom.  It not breaking the market and its not installing equipment. If you want to setup a ISP in BT land it’s a Radius server and a router off a BT central connection. We need high capacity stable bandwidth for the next generation not another sticking plaster so profiteers can make another coin of the ailing copper network.

http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=350283999618 (in BT world)

BT central style

LLU is a total diffrent ball game and costs a load more

I have to agree with you there Hobbisbang, I suppose for people like like ourselves who actually want to make a difference in this city for the better are ignored to some extent. In reality people want a connection without any hassle and will opt to choose for a worser service such as MediaSat because of it. Quite sad if you think about it, although we do need a hero for this city regardless. Wink

Are you going to answer our call for a hero Hobbisbang : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf0Xz36uLJY&feature=related  Cheesy

Perhaps MediaSat 3 made the right decision by not jumping in at the deep end and is using it's current plan to gather sufficient funds and eventually upgrade the service?

Well a hero would be nice but you can do more when you’re together.  Everyone has aggregated demand ideas some are in the interest of the community other are in the interest of themselves.

MediaSat3 Limited due to a legal issue that we hope is in the final stages of being resolved we cannot make any posts with regard the service we are bringing in, this is happening, all we ask is that people are patient.

This is the first time this has ever been done and it takes time, we want to share what is happening, but we can't. ...Our lips are sealed until this is resolved...
