The Karoo User Group (KUG) report that they have been receiving a 'steady stream of complaints' about the performance of the Karoo Broadband Max service over the past few weeks.

KUG state 'Complaints have come from users on Option 1 through to Option 4 with some users experiencing dialup like speeds in the evening.'

Karoo are in 'complete denial' of a problem Cheesy and KUG are advising users to contact KC Customer Services on 01482 602444 to make an official complaint.

Muwwaaahahahh - i mock theee - with your full on speed of 56k...

I am sat pretty in my ivory tower (out at Hessle)  and acheive a blistering 3 whole meg...
what will the poxy French say with their crappy 100meg links http://gigaom.com/2006/12/18/in-france-all-fiber-all-around/

Saying that my mortgage of £39 a month for said 3meg link is fairly steep.....!

The council did talk about putting in their own fiber MAN (metropolitan area network) a bit back and then selling off bandwidth to business's but that failed due to the nepotism of the council and KC at the time (too many councilors in the pay of KC...

That at least would have provided some much needed competition to KC and maybe, just maybe reduced the price while increasing the customer services...

Hi Malfius  Grin

I think there has been some suggestion that this problem is 'by design'. I wonder if it might be the case that Karoo are overselling the amount of bandwidth that they have and so are having to shape people's connections down to a ridiculously low speed....

Yep, same problems here. Atrocious speeds peak time on Max option 2.

i cant understand why people switched over to the 8meg line
the reason i stayed on the 3meg connection is because it is so
stable and very much more reliable than the 8meg line. i know
its cheaper to be on the 8meg line im still paying £40 per month
but my speed stays constant and im am downloading upto 4 or 5 times
faster than my mates who switched over to 8meg all my mates wish they
hadnt switched over.

Yeh, in hindsight I should have stuck with my original package, but its done and dusted. The only mitigating circumstance is the fact I have lowered my payment to the lowest package (Option 1) at £16.99, its a big saving on £40 a month. A saving of nearly £280 quid a year, not insubstantial.

Sure, the service is pretty crap, but my bank balance is happier. Smiley

yes im quite happy to stay on the 3meg connection i would rather pay £40 per month
and have no headache's.  Stormy i know you save £280 per year on your connection
but the Headache's you must have with that crap connection you must spend the £280
on painkillers LOL .  Grin

Nah, I get used to it. The money saved soothes the pain. Wink I wish it was a better service but I have no illusions its ever going to improve any time soon.
