As most of you are well aware i like my pings low and constant, anyway i had pings in the 40s with karoo and i was still happy cause it was constant and didnt spike, a few months ago when i moved into my new address i was told by karoo tech support that they couldnt lower the latency on my line cause my speeds would drop. Well i message karoo twitter and ask about my high pings and i was told to message them my phone number so i did, got a message back today telling me they have put me on a gaming profile and that my speeds would NOT be effected, Results from last week are in my sig and these are the results from now, Ive allways got 2.6mb on speed test crap i know lol

Did you say the latency tweak does not affect the data throughput of the line either? Looks good!

You can get gaming profiles from other ISP's also, they basicly turn Interpolation off from the ISP end (This can also increase the number of errors).
I was told I am on a Long Line Profile and since im on the old MAX packages I wouldn't be able to turn this into a gaming profile. But I have low pings anyway so im happy with that.

Same here. I am really going to think twice before switching from Karoo when the unbundling comes into effect, the only thing which would make me switch is if I see speed increases, seriously. I would much rather speak to a local english person when contacting support, rather than some Indian who struggles to communicate properly, and is badly trained. (Sky+BT+ALL OTHER ISPS) Also the fact I was able to just simply message my phone number through Twitter to have this done is fantastic, I am very impressed.

Yea the only way i will switch now is if the speeds offerd are better i doubt they will be tho, we need fiber to the cabnet then fiber to the home

I don't think they will be improved either, to be honest.
I have been happy with Karoo since day one, and nothing would make me switch, unless speeds are better. The customer care is beyond brilliant. People constantly complain about not having choice, but honestly, BT, Sky and alike, are the most frustrating and stressful people to try and deal with if you have a problem. Indian call centres are horrific, its almost like a nightmare trying to get them to understand you. You get thrown from pillar to post, department to department, its so annoying. I have never seen pings lower than the pings I have seen from Karoo users on this forum, ever.

Yeh, my pings on Max are usually great as you say, I am sure back in the day it used to be fast path, that might have been pre-max. Anyway the tweet confirmed its ADLS2+ only so will leave mine as is for now. Its just the shitty throttling we have to put up with which wont be solved either way. Mike
