All that is blocked in the "key words" in the netgear filters, due to having young children.

Doesnt stop somebody coming along with utorrent filled with porn already and then connecting to your wireless and clicking 'resume'  Wink

By the way, just looking to see where it confirms the free usage counter? Can't seem to locate it.

I found it on karoo broadband on facebook and its also on thinkbroadband.com.

My usage counter has gone up at all today on downloaded over 30gb already.

So do they just stop the clock? on the karoo usage meter?

With Christmas just around the corner, broadband ISPs are starting to show their festive spirits with two providers having announced that they will be offering unmetered usage over the period. On Wednesday, AAISP advised that Christmas week (25th December to 3rd January inclusive) will be treated as a special Christmas rate (free) for billing for users who have either a BT or a BE line through them.

Karoo's offer gives unlimited broadband usage on the Karoo Lite, Mid and Pro services from 24th to 26th December inclusive. There will also be 50% off international calls (although some exclusions apply).

Hopefully we should see some other broadband operators coming out with some Christmas bonuses to keep their customers happy. We also advise customers of the usual warning at this time of year- Christmas lights can cause interference with your broadband line, so if you are seeing your line being particularly unreliable, please try unplugging any fairy lights before getting in touch with your broadband provider.

Oh dear, if you are one of these people with a Kingston Communication connection who download via torrent quite frequently and have already taken advantage of the situation you may have fallen into a cleverly implemented trap. I have to say KC are quite smart (if I am correct in my assumptions here) to publicly state to all their customers about the recent unlimited usage cap this month in order to catch all the illegal downloaders out, so I wouldn't be surprised to expect a nice letter through the mail box next month from your local provider stating that you have to pay a fine for whatever reason. (This is a big IF however)

Edit: I also find it quite interesting how KC hasn't suffered because of this extra amount of traffic it has to handle this month either.  Tongue

Yeah, I'm sire that's the reason they've done it, odd seeing how they never actually tracked the ip's and have stopped cutting people off since it was all over the news Roll Eyes

And micky whats wrong with using the lovefilm to my ps3 and also playstore store movies where each blu-ray from playstation store is around 9gb. So how and why would that be illegal?

Just because people have good connections doesnt mean there use the internet illegally does it?

Sounds like some people are cheesed off that certain people, have a good enough connection to enjoy hd streaming.

Adamr8965 it seems to me you took my last post quite offensively, I clearly stated however that this a theory, nothing more, and it was actually aimed at people who use file sharing programs for illegal purposes apposed to people like yourself users who use their PS3 to obtain films legitimately. Smiley And to also state that I am jealous because I haven't got fast enough connection to download via torrent  is simply amusing in all honesty, I for one use my Cisco academies 1GB feed into Janet occasionally to download software, its allot faster. Cheesy

Edit: CommangerGC I apologize for not stating my last post correctly, but I think you already knew what I was referring to. Wink

Merry Christmas everyone.
