My brother lives in Newbald, if you dont know where that is, it is here Smiley

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=newbald&oe=&ie=UTF8&hl=en&hq=&hnear=Newbald,+United+Kingdom&ll=53.793756,-0.430527&spn=0.304602,0.617294&z=11

KC vans had been seen working on the cabinet in Newbald for a while so when I visited my brother I logged in to his router to see what was happening......

upload was still slow at about 767 and only about 9000 downstream but a phone call to technical support ( Becky - very helpful) had this working after a few tweaks:

ADSL Link               Downstream     Upstream
Connection Speed      15999 kbps      1023 kbps
Line Attenuation         16.5 db           8.0 db
Noise Margin               9.45 db            10.0 db

I am sure that could be tweaked even more on a 6db profile, ( looks to be about 10db) but that is great ! Shocked

Mark.

Yes Newbald is one of the new FTTC locations, Which hasn't been publicly discussed yet although i was made aware this was to be the case.

And yes mark you are right, The speed can be increased to a 17-18mb profile pretty easily. And it will be stable at those speeds too.  Wink

Again another place with choice, KC you are sick, give the people in hull these type of upgrades you know the people who made you what you are today.

On another note ill seen lots of kc vans outside the green box on newbridge road, they never used to be a green box outside the old royal pub its now hull and humber social club i think, if you look on google street its not there but when i drive past its 100% there 2 of them, and the brick box next to them is an exchange i think not 100% sure

Still waiting for them to bring the one on Priory park (East) online as some customers there have some of the worst ADSL speeds I've seen in the city!
