Interesting article on think broadband here about how it can become costly using mobile broadband http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/i/3438.html I think for a lot of people its not really viable to use mobile broadband if your into downloading and stuff, I think it would be appealing to people who are on the starter packages though.

Hi there

I'm new to the area, having just moved to to Beverley.
I must say I am reluctant to get Karoo as it means paying a line rental for a landline I will never use then paying unreasonable rates for what appears to be a sub-standard broadband service.

I am seriously considering Three's mobile broadband option.
As long as I can get connection to their Turbo coverage, then it appears to be a decent alternative.

Before I go and sign up to a lenghty contract does anyone thing I might be making a mistake?

Hi Maffster I guess it depends on what you use your internet connection for.

If you browse the occasional website, send an email or two then you should be OK with three.

If you're online gaming, downloading files, watching video or doing anything bandwidth intensive with your connection then it's likely that you'll hit your monthly allowance with three to be honest.

Dyls.

Hi Dyls

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking about getting the 3GB/month option.
I mainly browse the web and send emails but occasionally download music - not a great deal.
I never download video.

Would you guess that I'll go over my 3GB usage allowance?

Hi Maffster,

Try this website. http://www.webuser.co.uk/bandwidthcalculator.php

It should give you some idea of how much you're likely to use.
