I'm the biggest believer in free speech that I know and I know a lot of people!!

On our forum we will delete a message only if it is abusive to others and or contains bad language!!

As you will know Dylan I have never requested anything deleted nor will I!!

We just can't decide whether it should be members only or not, I tend to like open forums, if we have nothing to hide then...why hide it!!

Fair enough. I'll shut up then! I just tend to think fragmentation is rarely a good thing, and all you end up with is multiple communities with very little activity occurring on each of them. There's generally not enough 'conversation' to fill the many tiny spaces that end up being formed.

Perhaps Unofficial Karoo user Forums needs re-naming. Unofficial Hull ISP Users Forum? In all seriousness, if you want it to be a space for users of all suppliers and a space for suppliers to deal with their customers then a few changes would need to be made. My vote is all for it, sounds like a really good idea.

@Dylan

I do agree, my customers have been asking for one is the reason why I will be providing one.

I too would be happy with a renamed forum with additional sections.

I was going to make the forums on our website match up with network status page etc that we have also been asked for, if we were to put such a status page on here and experienced the slightest of issues certain people would jump all over it within a millisecond and that would be no good for anyone!

To be honest Rich, it's not really about what I want. After having run this place for years now I'm not really fussed one way or the other. If people choose to use us as a discussion area for multiple ISPs then so be it. If not. Well, you get the idea...

As for rebranding the forums, well we could, but we'd still be located @ karooforums.net and sacrificing the domain name would kill our high placing in the search engines. It just doesn't seem worth it somehow for me.

Perhaps it'd be a case of pointing a new domain at the old forums, keeping the old domain in place and renaming them. Does anyone think it's worth going down that route?

Oh aye, I wouldn't suggest moving to a new domain etc. Perhaps not even a full re-name, just a reorganise. If all the providers can agree that neutral ground (here) is better than their own potentially censored forum then I think it'd be a great idea, the customers in particular would be gaining an awful lot from not just their own provider but others, and other customers - again from either their own or other providers.

I'm sure providers will impliment their own forums in any case. If anyone has any suggestions of how we can better help serve the consumer interest then I'm all ears.  Grin
