It's an ADSL+2  profile which removes the error correction (interleaving) which in turn reduces latency by around 50% making it good for gaming, but often results in more line errors and possibility instability depending on the characteristics of the line

ive told all my mates about it, Just ring karoo and ask for a gaming profile, they reset your router and your good to go, No issues with web browsing. Here are some of my pings.

Yeah - also depending on your line you may lose some bandwidth, but for a gamer - well worth it.

Although for me, this wasn't possible without dropping over 1Mbps in bandwidth, to stabilize the line on the gaming profile, and as only get 3-4Mbps, it wasn't worth the drop for the latency - I get stable 26ms anyway.

Im on one of the old MAX packages and they won't put you on a gaming profile for these. I am on what is called a Long Length profile because of the distance from the exchange. My maximum without frequent disconnects is 2.5MB/s although I do get the occasional disconnect still.

There shouldn't be a need for a gaming profile on the old max packages, as they run on adsl rather than adsl2+ interleaving shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah you're right, I didn't know that at the time of calling them though. I have always gotten low pings on the old MAX packages so that would explain it
