Anyone else sick of waiting for the ''Important announcement''.
Are Karoo causing problems, or are Mediasat having second thoughts now Krapoo is rolling out fttb.

I, as I have previously said on these forums, live in Walkington. I now have average speeds of 15m down and 0.5m up which is a vast improvement to previous speeds, but I would still like the prices to drop to levels in line with the rest of the country's choice.

Mediasat may be doing more to ruin it's chances by not informing it's (hopefully) reasonably large customer base of what is going on, whilst at the same time giving Krapoo time to do what it should have done years ago !

At the end of the day whilst Mediasat are giving a  ''we will be helping everyone in the Krapoo system with a brilliant deal'' and ''wait untill you see who is coming to town'' they are in fact just another business who will be making as much money as they can from us.
If that's not possible they will not invest.
I fear we have more chance of ''Santa claus is coming to town'' than another landline IP.

I think a lot of people are sick off the so called announcements!!
I for one will be changing isp shortly as i am sick of my speed.Mine is 2.8 down if i lucky and i live about a mile from the exchange. So you hae good speed compared to me.
With regard to kc potentially holding things up, i would not be surprised at that!

regards

MS3 are doing all they can.

I know as I see them regularly enough.

The reason they wanted numbers for OFCOM is to help them enable LLU with KC.

Irrespective of this they will press on with all of their other plans, I would watch this space and be careful as a lot of people may have to eat their words!!

I thought you could LLU with KC already? But I heared that KC were charging ridiculous amounts of money to do it. Which I wouldn't be surprised by!

Further to my recent posts.

Krapoo seems to be back to it's old ways.

New fttb and look at these excellent speeds (used speedtest.net)!!

Should make Krapoo proud to know they have managed to get down to thier usual standards.

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1194846813.png

These are my router stats,

Connection Speed 17976 Kbps 1151 Kbps
Line Attenuation 16.9 dB 10.2 dB
Noise Margin 6.0 dB 6.2 dB

All very strange

Here is the press release for those too lazy to hunt it down  Grin

Quote
The initial £3.5m investment into the Hull network has been approved today and comissioned by MS3 Communications Limited. In conjunction with several key partners this first 50km of fibre is the start of a planned 166km of fibre to go in the ground over the next few months. Providing a real and independent alternative telecommunications network to KC to thousands of homes and business this is a groundbreaking project Over the coming weeks expect to see regular updates along with important information on the key partners involved. Managing Director Tim Jones of Eurocoms Group Limited, whos company was awarded the initial contract said "we are very excited to be involved in this project, this is going to be truly transformational for Hull and the surrounding region" Director of MS3 Communications Tony Hales says "we promised we would bring this network into Hull many months ago, in all this time we have worked hard forging the right partnerships to bring this project to life, and now we are doing exactly as we stated".
