Easy enough to install an extension yourself.

One of my lads will do it for £60
But the reson they dont want to do it is because they have to maintain it and they have no intrest in the network from the NTE forward.

Hobbis, will this be an extra port or just an extension of the previous one? Deffo interested. I have looked in B&Q and i can get an extension that plugs into the original one and then i trail the wire around to the desired location and fix new box onto wall...but i think this is defeating the point. I want to be able to keep the home phone in the front room, and in the new room have another phone and router. send me pm with details Hobbis and i will contact you, if this is what your offereing

They basicly take the two internet wires out of the main box and connect them with the same two wires from the extension cable going to your new box. The phone downstairs will still work, you wont be able to use the internet in the main box this way iirc and you will be able to plug a second phone into your new socket. Only one phone can be used at a time though, but its good for listening in on conversations *whistle*

Cordless phones still have to have the base plugged in. Wireless routers are all when and good but crap if your pc...not laptop, dont have a wireless adapter

is there a way to have the extension so i can still use internet thru both extensions via hardwire.
Example...i want to run my ps3 hardwired upstairs, and when i have finished with that i want to hardwire my pc for downloading which is downstairs.

I haven't read the full story. but you could look at Ethernet Adapters (maplin sell) which routes the connection using your mains power circuit, wired.
Its like running a huge Ethernet cable inside your walls, and they're actually very reliable, so long as you buy adapters with a bigger enough capacity for your bandwidth. Sorry if I'm completely off, with what you wanted to do.
