These are the issues that put me off, me and some networking engineers devised that it would be impossible to properly host my services on any of the wireless providers. Using a device that relies on the LAN instead of a true peripheral interface (Preferably a Serial connection of some sort) for this is a major problem to start with, not to mention how much garbage it has to get through just to be visible to the Internet.

You probably won't have so many problems with things like games where there is a master server that you are connecting to, but when you are trying to host something else (even older games that no longer have online support) there is nothing to go on except the records of people's DNS servers (which require an external IP Address, otherwise the entry is wrong!) or your external IP Address, it's even worse for older technologies that do not use TCP/IP, I doubt I could get IPX to function on such a connection.

Incidentally, a friend of mine has had countless issues with using his XBOX online with the wireless services due to NAT issues, personally I like to laugh at him as it is not a problem I ever run into on any of my consoles, because they were designed with actual gameplay in mind (Single Player) instead of a tool for confused twelve year olds to take out their frustration on strangers over the Internet.

Hehe, I hate kids anyway, why use an XBOX? Give them an Atari VCS, no online play so there are no disconnections, no clans and no being kicked from servers to annoy them Cheesy

Get them playing Pitfall and it will provide countless hours of fun for them, especially given how the game doesn't end.
