Hi
Trying to open the ports for Guild Wars. My router is old and crap and getting a new one next week, but I don't think that is he problem:

When I go to ipconfig /all, my IP address and defalt gateway are 10.0.0.3
and 10.0.0.2 respectively. My mask is 255.0.0.0 ( I hope I can post this info safely - not very technical!). The first two do not seem similar to all the examples on line, but I carried on regardless and entered them into the TCP IP Properties along with the DNS servers (212.50.160.100 and 213.249.153.100).

I then used this info to get a static IP using portforward.com

I then entered the details into my router as directed to port forward- again I put Host IP as 10.0.0.3.

When I did a port scan the port was still closed.

The numbers don't seem right to me, but I am at a loss as to what to do.

Any help gratefully received.

 Huh?

What router are you using?

I am using an Origo AWR-8210. As I say I have a better one ordered, but I could do with some R & R this weekend and would really like to get this one sorted!

Ok first thing you need to do is set up a static ip address properly from here http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm and then set up your router from here
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Origo/AWR-8210/Guild_Wars.htm
There is a simple guide to opening ports for your router.
Your ip address is 10.0.0.3  and your router address is 10.0.0.2,however I think that your mask should be 255.255.255.0 as set up in Windows Tcip properties.
When setting up the router make sure you open port 80 and 6112.
1 more tip " make sure that xp firewall is not on, hope this helps.

No it should be 255.0.0.0 for the 10.0.0.0/8 ip range.

No it should be 255.0.0.0 for the 10.0.0.0/8 ip range.
This must be specific to the Origo model then as my Etec is working great on 255.255.255.0 and my ip is 10.0.0.2, I thought that they were the same chips.

Yes the net mask 255.255.255.0 will work with that ip range too.
