Hi all

So how much to you trust the usage monitor??

Only asking as my usage seems to be very steep. For example for my last 12 months usage I avergae about 35gb a month I was on mid 2 so had to pay for 5gb excess usage per month average. So i have moved to Mid 3 and so far this month the usage monitor says i have used 41 gb in 18 days. seems strange to me as for 5 of thoses days i was in london with the only internet connected device we own with me. I have checked my routers logs and no other device as been connected to it, and the usage monitor on my laptop only shows 23gb used.

I just have my doubts about its accuracy (espically as they have had to reset usage a number of times in the past) and even more so as they use it as a revenue generator by charging for excess usage.

challenge the usage.be a thorn in their side.
I often question their phone bills , as ours is always around 70 quid per quarter, and it's a bloody ornament we don't use it.This is despite us being on the number 1 package or whatever they call it.

Isn't the base package something like £11 a month?

It wouldn't surprise me if they mess up the settings, i wonder how many people know how much they've used.

At least with telephone bills and mobile bills you get an itemisation so you can see what you have spent, with the adsl usage they just tell you that you have used x number of gb's and you have to pay it. I imagine this will be a very nice cash cow for krapoo espically after increasing it to £2 / gb but looking over the usage logs on my router I very much doubt i am using what they say i am using.

Also seems strange that on mid 2 i was always going over by about 5-8 gb and yet since moving to mid 3 seems my usage is again going to be about 5-8gb over the package (even though i get 20gb more per month) yet my usage of the internet has not changed.

I have noticed some odd things on the usage monitor recently...

When it gets near the changeover to the next period if you are using it constantly then sometimes it carries over a few gig or stops updating your usage in the current period (with no carryover)
