it may need an @karoo postfixed to the username on your router though

Yes, just remember you effectively have your own subdomain of sorts to take into account, just type the same thing in both user name boxes and it should be fine.

For example if your user name was "JohnDoe" you would type that into both the user name boxes so it became "JohnDoe@JohnDoe.karoo.co.uk" - Karoo user names have always confused me.
