Any news on this? I'd personally like to give up Sky in favour of Virgin cable, but i think they still don't do Hull?

They definitely don't do Hull, you would have noticed them digging up every Street to install it.

Virgin Media have their own seperate network, everyone else uses BT ( or KC ).

I wasn't talking about ditching Krapoo for Virgin, I was just talking about ditching $ky for them, in other words TV services... They should consider coming here, seriously.

Maybe if half of Hull wasn't so damn lazy, and actually inundated their twitter accounts, they might look into coming here, who knows?

Costs too much to start digging up the streets and wouldn't be viable for them.

I think Virgin are losing interest in TV services ( no-one can really compete with SKY ).

They only interest that Virgin have in expanding their network would be with Broadband.

Maybe broadband will be the future of TV in the coming years, I still think Virgin have a case for coming here.

Talk Talk and Opal are relaunching their TV services later this year and I wouldn't be surprised if other ISP's including KC launch TV services in the near future.

If they do then I hope it has no reliance on their internet service, despite Mid 2 I'm still struggling along at 4mb - streaming anything is often a chore still sadly, no matter the time of day.

If they offer TV through their connections, they would have to remove the low bandwidth allowances and also improve connections across the board, as i'm max at 4.5Mbps.

Why? All they have to do is not count bandwidth used for the tv service and it wouldn't take them much to do it. Also since it would very likely come from their own servers it will bypass their traffic shaping. for a decent SD picture and sound you only need 2Mb and for HD 4-5Mb. Granted it may look awe-full on 50+ inch tv but i'm guessing that this service will be web based so most people will be watching using their PCs.

If it's launched as a web based TV service then fine, if it's launched as a TV Service then I'd expect to be able to watch it in good quality on my 42 inch TV.

Virgin are now offering Tivo (sp?) and must be spending a small fortune on advertising.

It would make sense for KC to offer TV services, it'd be about time that there is an alternative to Sky.
