It would make sense for KC to offer TV services, it'd be about time that there is an alternative to Sky.
They tried it with KiT, and it failed misreably. They just couldn't dent the stranglehold Sky had and to be honest they couldn't really compete price wise. So it got ditched.

Remember the disaster that was KIT (Kingston Interactive TV - Kingston "Vision" ). KC customers are still paying for this !!!! MR Walsh, current MD of KC , was the MD of KIT ! Most buy capacity from SKY - as KC did on the KIT service. KC would never provide TV services as it would mean providing more Internet bandwidth for Karoo customers and with no shaping and prioritisation !!! Have a look at http://www.projectcanvas.co.uk/project-summaryPN

KiT... And Rediffusion, my house still has loads of rediffusion boxes stuck to it, if you want rid of those and you call KC, they will tell you that it is not their responsibility or their property, so you remove it yourself and they will take you to court for tampering with their communications equipment.
Oh... and if KC offered a new service, they would not need to offer more bandwidth, as presumably it would be internal and bypass any shaping.

Was Rediffusion a part of KC? if not, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they tried any litigation against you for removing them..

KC sometimes use the rediffusion junction box as an entry point for the phone line.

i once worked for redifusion many moons ago and if there are any boxes or cables on your property you can take them off but if the wires span across a road be very careful as they could end up in your neighbours front window

KC own the rights to the Rediffusion duct network in Hull and have done from about 1999. Rediffusion sold this to a 3rd party of whom were bought by a cable a Company of whom subsequently sold it to KC.
I used to work for KC and remember them removing dark fibre and some customers from the old network into its own duct network. University of Lincs and Humberside used to have dark fibre between Cottingham and their central Hull campus near Hull College
Much of the old network passes over private land and wasnt maintainable.

@Dylan; Didn't know that was still around, always made me think of the "Anarchist's Cookbook" - don't know if you've heard of it, it's worth reading, even though some of it is outdated now.
Edit; I should probably add, that I do not condone copying from the affore mentioned book.
Anyhow, back on Virgin, I've been getting a few leaflets from them recently, though I haven't bothered to read them.

By their very nature all wireless means of telecommunications are insecure.
