I have had many problems with Google chrome cough..cough Safari in the past and because of that I don’t particularly use it any-more. As el-ahrairah has previously stated I think this has something to do with the cache system and how it works but besides this one major fault I see nothing wrong with it been a viable option for you. FireFox on the other hand is pretty much dead to me now given that is uses more of my systems resources than IE9. Fun fact here only 1/5 of the development team still work on Firefox which may explain a few things.
Oh and by the way don’t expect to run any HTML 5 services on Chrome as they have pulled support for it. I guess Google seem to have a dislike for services that actually deliver on promises and work, for instance on You-tube flash uses 90MB of ram whilst HTML 5 uses 30MB
