The discovery of an old Rediffusion cable running between my house and the one opposite got me looking through the rediffusion pages on the hack hull site. Was it really a byelaw that we could not have a TV aerial then? How did this come about?

Someone is harassing me by texting me "ngba" every night at 11pm.

I have have enough, its bang out of order.

I've never heard of such a by-law, as far as I know, Rediffusion was an option that allowed you to recieve more channels, just like a cable service would today.

Keep in mind I wasn't alive when Rediffusion was around, so I only know what I've read or been told by people that used/worked on it.

No, but i do believe there was a law or bylaw that says you can't have more than 1 TV aerial without some sort of planning permission..

Not as many as the Hull Atari ST Users Group  Wink

I was an early teen when we still had Rediffusion, memories of the whole family gathered around the box waiting for Starview. I remember the worst thing was that you could only use specially adapted games consoles, we had a binatone  Undecided

Had Redifusion radio programs at school & redifusion TV at home, which had dial on the wall & then latter a set top box.

Also had an 512k Atari ST which came from Tomorrow's World
