I like the placement of Karoo's new packages ad's... and the fact that the price of the Pro package is hard to make out (or it is on my screen at work anyway)
Since the Council no longer has it's majority shares in KC I doubt they have the "influence" they used to have to make KC do something... ( I think I'm right in what I say... Hull CC sold there shares in KC didn't they?)
Anyway, I won't be holding my breathe...

Yeh the Council sold the stake off and now there are no real majority shareholders in KCOM, the biggest stake is about 6% from some investment group.
So the KCOM management are free to take the company forward.

Looks to me like KCOM have approached the council cap in hand to upgrade their creaking infrastructure. Shame the people of Hull will foot the bill for the fat cats once again

Unless and until Hull City Council stops assuming that KCom are automatically part of any broadband solution and realises that they are in fact the root cause of the broadband problems that are holding the city backwards then Hull will never realise its pioneering Next Generation dreams.
Rather than seeking to protect KCom come what may, surely it makes more sense to focus on already-lost inward investment opportunities caused by the present sorry state of broadband in Hull and seek to make sure that Hull becomes the preferred location for 21st century connectivity?
Historically Hull has demonstrated that it learned how to move on from outdated industries eg. whaling and fishing and reinvent itself.
Now is the time to apply that same spirit of renewal to advanced telecommunications.

Speed and pressure is gathering on this nation delivering on its potential. Unfortunately there will be casualties as in all conflicts. We should face the fact we have a fight on our hands
But be mindful that the guerrilla tactics have won wars

Lets hope not as no progress will be made otherwise, they shoud be talking to companies who have been successful on a national scale, not just the odd leased line here and there like KCOM
