Only Virgin Media offer broadband only,

For which they charge £28.50 a month.

If you have a phone line ( £13.90 ) then they only charge £18.50 a month for the broadband.

They effectively charge you £10 per month line rental if you take broadband without the phone sevice.

10.  Choosing to introduce the new fibre into Woodmansey first, instead of benefiting their own local Hull customer base first, for example, there have been good arguments put forward for the University area being a prime area to receive fibre first or the business community.

Can't say I agree with this point, Woodmansey are still 01482, HU postcode, and only have the choice of KC as well, so for me are as entitled as the people of Hull. Considering Woodmansey have some of the worst speeds in the KC network, you'd feel a bit pissed off if an area with a better speed than you anyway, where to then be given an upgrade, just because they are in Hull.

Woodmansey has the choice of BT - call me a sceptic but IMHO it is more a ploy to get new customers from a BT area.  By "Hull" I meant those people in a "HU" post code that do not have a BT line or cannot get a BT line.

Anyway - it is early days on the fibre and it will be very interesting to see how it goes - there are many arguments over where it should be implemented first and why.  If it comes my way and can be delivered direct into my house (even via KC) then I would be interested to see what they offer.

However, if SBB kick out a steady, consistent and reliable 20mb then I will be very happy staying put afterall, no more silent marketing calls to my landline!

Either way you look at it the next 12-24 months are very exciting times for broadband supply in Hull.

Woodmansey does not have the choice of BT, you cannot get or have a BT line in Woodmansey

p.s.....you're a sceptic

Thank you for correcting me with regards Woodmansey and the BT situation (you learn something new every day).

You are also correct with your second point - when it comes to KC I am a sceptic!
