And in record time? My line was totally dead on Friday too.

A big thank you to Cath, Gemma and especially Kelly in tech support.

See my posts in Nextgenus threads as to why.

Maybe you have done the right thing !
my karoo connection had been crap for ages but something has happened to make it a lot more usable ,just what I do not know.

If it stays like this I may be tempted to stay with them when my contract ends very soon ,

Well I always had a stable connection at around 16meg. Must have been nuts to leave.

You would not believe how reassuring it is to see a proper bandwidth meter again.

I think this is one of NGU's biggest problems which needs addressing immediately.
Especially when enforcing strict caps.

A quick phone call this AM and I am also back up to full speed. RDP up and running (with my DSL router no less) Fantastic support BTW from Tav who is getting some firmware tweaks sorted for the new ST516 (bridged mode)

Why oh why did i ever leave, sure I have to have a phone line but thats ADSL for you.

Lovely Jubbly.  Kiss

Girl I spoke to this morning said that she had someone cancelling last night who was very abusive and gloating about the fact that his nextgenus speeds where sooooo much faster. Apparently he is a downloader.  Shocked Cannot have seen the new T&C/FUP!

Why *did* you leave?

We never have seen better than 8meg, but it's the traffic shaping that killed it for us. I like a bit of iPlayer in the evening Smiley

I left because I believed the hype. I was (still am) on a saving kick.

The irony is that had the Nextgenus kept thier FUP as it was I would have been a great little user for them. I hardly ever got around to close to 1gb per day even. I just needed the occasional large overnight file.

We are very light iplayer users but I do know what you mean about traffic shaping.

With some tweaks...

My real world usable throughput is up to 1.8 Megabytes per second from an nntp service.
This means I can potentially exceed 51gb per 8 hour session.

This is a couple of hundred K p/s higher than previously even though the speed checker is about the same.

Well, unless he's in the Facebook group, I bet he hasn't got a clue.
