Hi there im interested in getting a broadband package and i am just wanting to know do you have to take a talk package as well?
I have searched  this forum, but cant seem to find anything. In the terms on the KC website all it says is that you must have an installed kc line which we have. Its just that we do not need a phone at the moment

cheers

As far as I am aware - yes you need a "talk" package as KC introduced these 2/3 years ago.  Prior to this you could just have your landline and pay your rental for that and then just pay for any calls on top. KC local is the cheapest at the mo at £12.49.  This is the big gap in the KC broadband service.  Many people would just like a cheap landline package for their broadband.  You will also find that if you use the KC talk for non-local calls that you are charged something like a 11.3p connection charge on top of your call charge, so make a few out of local calls and your £12.49 will be a lot higher.

The bundles offer a better deal unless you are happy with a 5GB download limit - then you will be better going for the 5gb karoo broadband and the KC talk - but dont use your phone for non-local calls, otherwise the Karoo Broadband and Phone package at £29.99 will be better value cos you also get 30gb download.  No doubt you have read all this on their website lol !

Of course there are wireless providers in which case you do not have to bother with a landline at all.

Of course it'a an 18 month contract as well with KC now.  You could keep your landline and trial a wifi/fiwi provider and see how it goes.
