Author Topic: Why I returned to Karoo  (Read 988 times)

Ok - I did a post dissing Karoo as to why I left them - but I returned.  So I think its maybe useful for others to know (who are maybe thinking of leaving karoo) why I returned to Karoo.

2 basic reasons:

1. reliability
2. stability

I am fortunate to get a good DL speed with Karoo of 15mb+.

However, what is still disconcerting is that I cannot truly say I went back to Karoo for positive reasons - i.e. I went back to Karoo as I found my wifi connection unreliable and unstable otherwise I would have stayed with the wifi provider.  I did not go back embracing Karoo positively.

I have been with Karoo for about 10 years using their internet connection and in all that time the most the internet has ever been down for me was about 2.5 hours.  I have to accept that that is a very good record - in fact excellent.  Yes, the prices are not very good and could be a lot better and I still think that they take existing customers for granted (eg I have been a non-defaulting customer of KCs for over 20 years and when I told them I was leaving I was not offered any kind of incentive to stay - that is really bad customer service).

Well I think that balances things out a bit now ...

Yeah same here Galli... I was getting virtually bugger all up or down, from Karoo so kicked them into touch in favour of the new up & coming Airnet... Roll Eyes
To be fair though Airnet was brilliant for the first 6 or 7 months but sadly after that it all went pair shaped, good one minute & bad the next, plus the VoiP never worked.
Before signing back up with Karoo I explained the reasons why I left them in the first place, since going back to them last April I've had a few issues but have always had good support from them and my connection is far from brilliant but it works and it's reliable  Smiley

KC are an incumbent, they would not be allowed to give you any incentive.

^Interesting point...

The customer service really has got much better over the last few years though, especially tech support.

The appalling (and I really mean that) Nextgenus service is what drove me back though so I know what you mean.

Me too. I have never experienced such an appalling attitude.

Not just the technical either. Nextgenus staff publicly vilified me for daring to complain about the changes regarding the FUP and said that they would "not miss me" when I informed them I would leave.  Roll Eyes

They threatened me with "deep packet inspection" to see what I was downloading and accused me of being a pirate.  Cheesy
