2nd January 2012 is it a bank holiday? some official sources say it is, some say its just Scotland?! anyone know for sure? the former that suggest it is, include government websites and they suggest its for the whole of UK.

Yes 2nd of Jan is a UK bank holiday. The 3rd of Jan is a Scottish bank hol.
