Why are they trying to flog this to me now?

An extra £8 a month for basically an AV.

-Free Engineer Visit. Not needed. If there ever was a fault, it would eventully mean a Engineer would come if it was an issue outside my house.
-VIP Response. Hardly Likey. It's KC
-PC Assure. Meaning? The same Company that told me formattingmy system would cure  broadband problem a few yers back
-Doscounted Calls. Not needed
-Router Warrenty. Don't use the Router assocaited with KC. Prefer something better
-MyTech Discounts? Is this? trying to seell PC Repairs now?

Its just all pointless. I told them I have four months left with Kaspersky, which i don't. Just swapped over to Emsisoft, but, they'll be telling me that that isn't good enough. It is. Alot better than Kaspersky too, and got it while it was on offer for £5.43 for the full year.

KC just annoy me!

Agreed, Norton is so good, it even kills the host PC!

Yeh - I had a rant about the VIP service as one of the reasons why I left KC - which basically means that KC have created second-class customers overnight (major faux pas as far as customer service is concerned).  It means if someone is paying the extra few squid a month and they get a problem and I get a problem then they get "prioritised".  Not one of KC's greatest moments as far as I am concerned.  That is just not good customer service at all and smacks of "British Gas type" arrogance.

[edit] As for AV - I know Norton used to grind your system to a halt and from what I have seen of others using it nothing much has changed although I think that the speed of PCs now may have alleviated some of the "drag" effect of Norton and other resource hungry AV's.  I have found the quickest AV to be Vipre - especially if you do not use a high spec PC - you hardly notice Vipre is running.

At the end of the day you don't HAVE to buy it.

Most phone companies offer these types of cover.

Agreed, it's just there for people who want complete peace of mind.
After all, they are business, and will try and earn money where they can.
