BT called again today,

line rental "around" £9 per month, c/w 300 mins,
ADSL pricing & packages "unknown",
there are also going to offer  SIP lines,

I asked about fibre, which is "a long way off"

They asked if I'd like an appointment see them, if they show I'll post some info oh here

I didn't let them bribe me and canceled my contract with Sky. THAT was the best deal I ever got  Grin

I don't understand Sky, when don't they rent lines off KC, they can afford it and must have a big enough customer base in Hull to take up their broadband already.

I always read that the reasons why nobody comes here is because we're a small market for them AND KC rip them off as the prices they charge apparently are the same as that for BT? but KC don't operate for the whole of the UK so it's not value for money at all, regardless of what OFCON think.

To be quite honest, untill the fibres' are all laid anyone comming in and using KC lines will just give the same speeds as KC does currently. The lines are the limiting factor for most places, very poor attenuation and SNR.
