I see Talk Talk is the most complained about ISP:

Don't they provide the backbone of SBB Fibre link??

maybe there the worst complained about galli but they dont seem to be doing to badly in hull mate at the minute cause all SBB customers ive talked to are really pleased with there service and me for one they seem to be leading the way for customer service and quick at responding to peoples problems if they have any and joe and the team at SBB are really helpful so id like to thank talk talk even you are the worst complained about netowrk your doing a great job for me lol

@nicknack - all credit to Joe and SBB and I wish them continued growth and success.

My point though is that you are only as strong as your weakest link and it must be frustrating if you have a problem and their is nothing that you can do about it - i.e. problem with Talk Talk fibre. However, with so many changes happening at the moment with MS3 fibre and KC fibre I wonder if SBB are gonna stay with Talk Talk? (If they are with Talk Talk - hence my original question.)

I just think that its useful to know who is providing the fiber to the "fi-wi" companies - maybe a thread just on this would be useful in the future so that you get an overall picture of who you are signing up with.

Interesting find, and it's glad to see that Karoo isn't the one claiming this 'award' Tongue
I also think it may be a good idea making a thread, stating who provides which wireless ISP with their bandwidth.
If anyone wants to do this, go for it.

However, I'm going to move this thread, to the 'Off Topic' section.

It doesn't seem right to have this thread in the SBB area to me, Talk Talk do provide the backbone, but I feel that talking about them being the most complained about ISP, may put future customers off SBB.
It would be unfair for this to reflect onto Joe and his team, as they actively do whatever they can to provide a high quality service, while contributing to this forum!

@Scotty - disagree with you on that one! If Talk Talk is the back bone of SBB then surely it belongs in SBB thread?  Talk Talk is integral part of SBB - ok it doesn't reflect SBB customer service but it does affect the service of SBB wi-fi itself.

You cannot just pick out the good bits of a company and say the bad bits are nothing to do with it?!  That's the whole package you get with SBB and its down to SBB to show that it does not affect their service by providing a reliable connection.

You take away Talk Talk and what happens to SBB service?

Agree with Galli as this does have an impact on SBB and does not reflect badly on SBB at all, therefore not off topic.

I agree also, don't understand why its been moved, it is on topic. SBB are very good, when I have had problems, 99% of the time its from talk talk.

but wouldnt people say karoo are bad and complained about ,customers are probably 1 10th of talk talk but you can say that about any provider 43 exchanges went down last month think that was bt and they probably provide talk talk and many others so for once galli i think this is rubbish open reach have problems and they provide everybody so if they go down so does everybody else carnt see sense in this

totally agree chesh i think karoo are alot worse then talk talk at the minute after all you left karoo for SBB galli so if karoo are alot better you would'nt of left them in the first place i think your just wanting to pick bad faults on every provider myself

Point being though If KC had an issue and it caused NGU problems people would complain about it in the NGU area. The point here is from a customer point of view it doesn't matter who provides the backhaul, and whether they're having problems or not, regardless the customer is going to see it as "my connection is down, sort it out". Customers don't care if it's ISP or ISP-Backhaul that is at fault, they just want their connection back up and running.

The backhaul provider is pretty much God to the ISP, without them the ISP has no connectivity. So yes, if KC had a problem and it took my NGU connection down I would complain in the NGU area; NGU are my ISP, not KC.

The fact that Talk Talk are the most complained about ISP (nothing new there) doesn't in ANY way reflect on the service Joe provides at SBB, as we all know SBB are doing a sterling job. But without Talk Talk SBB have no connectivity to the net (unless you've gone uber resilient Joe?) so anything to do with Talk Talk is related to and concerns SBB. Looking at it another way, if Talk Talk (or in NGU's case KCom) had financial difficulties reported in the media we would all discuss it in the ISP (SBB or NGU) area of the forum as it is of the highest importance and concern to customers of the ISP, yes? Tid-Bits of into are also of the same importance IMO, good or bad.

EDIT -

On the other hand here I'm sure if Talk Talk had been named the least complained about ISP there wouldn't be such a stink about this topic being in the SBB area of the forum... Good and bad, it all deserves airing, Talk Talk pertains to SBB and KC pertains to NGU - simples.
