Free wireless router from Karoo

had to laugh today, got a flyer through the door today from Karoo saying I am getting slow speeds because I have "the wrong router" and I can have a free wireless router if I take my old router into Carr lane with the letter.
The reason I have slow speeds is because I'm 4.1km from the exchange.

I think they might have picked up that I don't sync on ADSL2+ as I have mine forced onto ADSL2 as it is faster for me at 4.1km
so if you want a free router it may be worth a shot.

I have dug out my old Zoom x3  that should satisfy them for the freebie and I'll have a new spare just in case.

if anybody else gets one of these letters I have got an old Zyxel router that they can have to pass on as theirs to Karoo.

got the router it's not bad for a technicolor (Thompson) but it's still a bit crippled compared to other routers, it's a TG582n, it's wireless N and has a USB port that you can plug a 3G modem or memory stick into so it is a nice cheap way to get a NAS for anyone that doesn't want to pay for a proper NAS. but it doesn't like it's IP address changing, changed it's IP address from 192.168.1.254 to 192.168.1.1 but my wife's notebook was using DHCP and it wouldn't pick up the default gateway as 192.168.1.1, it got configured with 192.168.1.254 so had to give it a static address.
the other downside is the wired Ethernet is only 100 Mb/s not gigabit
