This isn't available in my HU5 area and knowing my luck i will be one of the ones that can only get between 40 - 80mb because mine will be finished with a copper pipe connection to the house.
I know i should be excited that it is finally here but i am not dancing for joy yet.
Anyone else in HU5 area?

HU5 4 here - And yeah we will likely be 40-80Mb which to be fair I won't say no to, I'd be delighted with the stability of a fixed line and the speeds I've become accustomed to on NGU :-D I can see this taking a few years though sadly :-(

I am no KC apologist but hard to see how they can ever satisfy anyone!
There are no serious alternatives of the likes of BT etc - do not even consider NGU as serious more like a few mates playing at ISP.
The pricing is reasonable with large enough amounts of bandwidth. The only gripe is when they will be in your area.
Bring it on!

Depends on which service you take. For FTTH then a cable router will most likely be required. As for FTTC a router capable of supporting VDSL is needed. both will be provided by KC if needed.
I am guessing for most places this is going to be FTTC/VDSL as surely FTTH would require a massive ammount of extra investment digging up every street and cabling to peoples homes in the area they wanted to install it in.

@stormy - i reckon thats correct, big estates with houses in abundance will most likely get FTTC, whereas villages will get FTTH

If there is existing ducting with room and ducting going to the pole, or to the home, then its probably just as easy and makes better sense to deploy FTTP. The engineering experts know best

I'm surprised they haven't just pulled all the Rediffusion cable and used it's ducting for the fibre or has the ducting for it been removed?
