Hi I'm a karoo customer with a slowish connection. I would say my max download speed is 250-290kb/s or 2.20 -/+ mbits on speed test.
I can never stream HD like Iplayer and among other things, it does my head in.

My connection is now at 5113/1024 and I remember a couple of years ago my download speed was in excess of 600kb/s.

Does anyone know why this is or is it normal? I was on the phone to karoo last week about a techinal problem and they asked me randomly if i'd seen a speed increase, I said no none. They then told me
my line had gone from 4091 or something to 5000+, which is true my line was in around 4000 so i'm presuming I should of noticed some increase in speed ? according to them.

Im using a belkin f5d7634-4 router, couldn't be this could it  Huh?

I would appreciated replys thanks. considering ringing them again, but I find them pretty useless. I've rang before about my speed and they brushed me aside >:.

What Karoo package?

It's not normal for the Karoo Lite/Mid/Pro packages to get such low download speeds, 2.2mbps won't cut it for BBC HD though.

Karoo have a habit, I have found at least, in getting rid of you off the line by putting your sync speed up telling you this will surely improve speed, which only causes things to get worse as there is usually a reason your sync speed was capped in the first place.

I'm on the home extra bundle now(£39.99), but I was on a mid older package last year with unlim downloads (£27.99). Since upgrading/changing - my speed has stayed exactly the same.

Can you recommend anything to say to them on the phone or things to specifically ask them to do, instead of me just saying "can you make my speed faster".  and them saying "no".

Thanks.

At what times are you testing the speeds?
Just from personal experience I can get 14-17mbps during the day but that drops to 1-2mbps after 19:00.

14 is a distant dream for me, I just did it now 8.10pm scored 2.26mbps.

Will edit this later for an off peak test, but so far I've never noticed any real speed change at all between peak and off peak.

so its now 02.45 am,
1st test: 2.21DN/0.87UP,
2nd: 2.30/0.87

restarted router and tried again 5117/1021
3rd test was: 2.18/0.73
4th: 2.26/0.86

annoying to say the least im guessing they must of capped me for some reason? it's not like my line can't support more speed, as it used to be 3x this.
