I am just wondering what type of router you use with the KC link.  Have you had to change for any reason and why?  Doe's the router work well?

I myself use a Swedish Intertex IX66-EDFLC which has performed solidly for the last 7 years (they make them well those Swedes!) It was rated for broadband max back in those days but cost a lot....I have had to replace it once due to a lighting strike killing one of the network connections (though the other did work and still does).
It provides a sip gateway as well if i wish to use it (dont see the point), it can also act as a wifi gateway if i shove in a CF wifi card..
All in all i am happy with the performance and throughput it has provided over the years.  I know lefty used one once - i lent it to him (or should that read in true Hull speak - i borrowed it him....!)

I use a SpeedTouch 510 router. Its around 3 years old and I originally bought it when I moved up to Karoo 3000 because the one I was using at the time couldn't hold signal.

Karoo tech help have assured me the 510 should have no problems with the up to 8meg service but I often wonder if it has anything to do with my need to be capped at around 3meg.

[admin:  I am just adding a link to a review of the router for people to see..]

I bought a ZyXEL 660R cheap from Ebay after finding the old Speedtouch 330 didnt really cut it for 8Mbps.

I was going to get a decent wireless router but my motherboard has wireless capabilities which work well with my wireless music player (a Squeezebox v3) downstairs for now.

Until I get a laptop it will do. Cheap and chearful but works well.

I'm using a Solwise SAR-600EW WiFi modem router with the funky routertech firmware installed on it. Great fun if you're a geek like me who likes fiddling with Linux  Grin

Netgear DG834G wireless Router. Solid Stuff. Had a Belkin before that. Worst piece of electronic equipment I had ever bought.

I use a 2wire 2700HG-B  wireless router / modem and it's literally the best router I've ever had.  Gives me and open NAT for xbox live and even has a 1-10x power setting for wireless.  It's never hung, dropped, froze or hidden the remote - ever lol.

I paid £20 for it off ebay second hand.

Billion 7402R2M ADSL Firewall VPN Router.... used Billion ever since Solwise sold them years ago, very reliable and has an onboard chip for processing VPN, which has been useful Smiley

Not really had any issues with it, and there are regular firmware updates with fixes, tweaks and new features. Probably one of the best routers with alot of "business" functionality bar Cisco of course Smiley

Uses the Globespan Connexant chipset, not to be confused with the early Connexant routers which were terrible Wink Also supports ADSL2+ ANNEX M which offers downstream speeds of up to 24Mbit and Upstream up to 3.5Mbit up Smiley

Netgear DG834N for me... thought I'd jump on the new Wireless N standard early, even though it's only in draft... haven't got anything else yet on the N range so couldn't tell you how much faster it is yet  Cheesy

Solid router though, plently of features, wireless seems to drop every now and again but that seems to be the norm for Netgear, or it's just someone else pratting around on the same frequency...

Netgear DG834G v3. I used to have a Belkin but it was old and is now completely useless. Have been using DG834Gs for a year or so, absolutely no complaints. I always supply them when I'm setting up home networks, they're only £30 odd on eBay. And I note that there is now a v4. Or is that the N version mentioned earlier?
