Hi there, wonder if you can help. I am paying £30 a month for option 4 8mg line, however the line is totally unstable even when running at low speeds (at present I am capped at 2.4). My SNR is all over the place - one minute 20+, the next 0  Cry . I have been having this problem for over a year now and have had numerous visits from Karoo techs, and so far getting nowhere. All lines have been replaced, as well as ports in the exchange. I have new sockets in the house (in built filters), no extentions, have tried running without phone plugged in, tried multiple modems/routers, all to no avail. I am sorry if this topic is duplicated else where, but I don't have time to read all your posts at present. My next door neighbour is getting a 5mg line which is stable, whilst I can be disconnected several times an hour at times. Any advice gratefully accepted, Karen

It says 4.5mbps, this confirms what the techs have told me - they thought I should get about 5.
After speaking to yet another tech today, they are apparently going to try changing the ports at the exchange again and also checking the filter which they have in place at their end, this should be done in the next couple of days, will let you know if things improve.

Hi Karen,

Stick your head out of the window. How does the line coming up to your house look?

Just a hunch ;-)

Yeah, there are still quite a few poles if you look about. I had the same problem as the OP, and it looked to be the line up to the house!

Hmmm wierd. Try powering down *everything* - TV, digiboxes, dvd etc etc, power down the lot! Try again, still having the same problem?

digibox is worth a try if you've got one.    My old digibox was fine but when I changed over to SKY+ the new digibox played havoc with my router.  Angry

I just unplugged the SKY+ fone cable.
