the support over the phone is useless unless you dont know how to find the karoo homepage.
The email support is far more helpful, anyone who is having difficult / being told BS over the phone i strongly suggest you email. I'm sure they have some good people on the phones, but the 2 times i rang, it was beyond help. Any other company would have them sacked on the spot.

ISPreview are reporting that ISP Be, owned by O2, are inviting its users to trial a bonded ADSL2+ solution which will see users reaching speeds of up to 40Mbps. Due to the variable speed of ADSL based technologies, speed will be dependent on the distance from the exchange, but in most circumstances users can probably expect near double the current speed of their ADSL2+ line. Be will provide a suitable router and 2 additional telephone lines for the service. Details to sign up to the trial are as follows: If the sound of getting up to 40meg excites you then here’s what you need to do: * Contact Be on 0207 479 5029 by Friday 26 September 2008 at the latest to book your place on the trial. * Once you’re confirmed on the trial we’ll even contact BT to order your 2 new telephone lines (incoming calls only) so you don’t have to. * And finally meet us in a pub near our offices to get your new free router. Meeting venue and details will follow once you’ve contacted us to be part of the trial For further information on this trial please contact Be by e-mail at: linebondingtrial@beunlimited.co.ukApart from the benefits of trialing the faster service for a month, users will also receive a month free broadband, and have the use of the two phone lines for a year (although inbound calls only). Update 22nd September, 10:40 We have confirmed that this bonding trial is only open to existing Be Members that are on the Paddington exchange in London and is limited to between 20 and 30 participants. 2 phones lines bet karoo will jump on this 2 lots of line rental i bet ther#y wud charge l;ol

My Adsl2+ has gone back to ordinary adsl and down from a 7 meg to a 3 meg. Having said that my browsing is much faster and my pings are better, also my attenuation has gone down by 4 Db. Suppose the "engineer" will phone me back and say that there is nowt wrong with my line again How can the attenuation go down by 4 Db for christ sake, surely it is the same length? It was 47 Db before they mucked about with Adsl2+, so where have they gone wrong? ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 3456 kbps 640 kbps Line Attenuation 48.0 db 29.0 db Noise Margin 17.3 db 17.0 db Also can someone tell me why on Hull Road by Tokenspire there are BT covers?

http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/?tag=ADSL_Theory_AttenuationThere's a bit of a twist with attenuation, it increases with frequency; the higher the frequency the higher the attenuation. Sounds strange but makes sense; when someone goes past in their lowered Commodore with a bad-ass stereo all you can hear is the doof-doof of the subwoofers. You don't hear the singing, guitars, etc which are a higher frequency. The volume levels are generally the same (the people in the car hear a bit more than just doof-doof) it's just the higher frequencies are being attenuated faster than the lower frequencies. Adsl (G.DMT) has adsl data on frequencies 25-1107 kHz Adsl2+ has adsl data on frequencies 25-2200 kHz So once you get to higher frequencies the attenuation increases, so the average attenuation of adsl2+ is higher over adsl. Nothing Karoo can do about it, its physics You can see from my dmt graph that attenuation increases quite abit as the frequency increases.

Intresting reading that Miken, thanks. Any ideas about the other comments? Also how come someone else with figures close to mine gets such a vast difference in speed?
You Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 26.5 / 44.0 = 12meg
Me Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 29.0 / 48.0 = 4-6 meg

i had solid 8mb down before i changed over to adsl2... i had to ring them to change my download speed as when i changed over, only my upload went up to 1023mb... after speaking to some special people on the phone they said 8mb was the max i could get... even though i told them i had a download SNR of like 25db... anyway.. called back a day later and actually got someone who knew what they were doing, he said about 14mb would be possible on my line, sure enough he changed it and i synced at 14333mb no probs... snr down to 7db... this was solid for about 5 days, then i checked one day and it had gone back down to 8mb and snr back to 25db... very odd... i rang them back and they changed it back to 14,333mb for me... however after about an hour it had gone back down to 9mb.. very odd!!!
My line can sync easily at 14mb no probs and no errors, but why does it not stay at this speed?? it keeps dropping down.. i jst dont get it...

Try emailing them about it explaining what happens, it worked for me (my line would reset at end of each billing period)

Not sure why! But I guess the KC lines have to join BT lines somewhere right. Here in Beverley there are also a lot of BT covers as I think they offer services from the Leconfield exchange (though it is too far for decent broadband). i had solid 8mb down before i changed over to adsl2... i had to ring them to change my download speed as when i changed over, only my upload went up to 1023mb... after speaking to some special people on the phone they said 8mb was the max i could get... even though i told them i had a download SNR of like 25db... anyway.. called back a day later and actually got someone who knew what they were doing, he said about 14mb would be possible on my line, sure enough he changed it and i synced at 14333mb no probs... snr down to 7db... this was solid for about 5 days, then i checked one day and it had gone back down to 8mb and snr back to 25db... very odd... i rang them back and they changed it back to 14,333mb for me... however after about an hour it had gone back down to 9mb.. very odd!!!

is your SNR stable? some people will experience very dramatic drops as people turn on bad equipment. mine goes from 8 to 2.5 in the evening on bad days.

Does it do it at exactly 18:50 every day?
If so its probably rein (Random Electrical Impulse Noise) - Sorry wanted to use the fancy word, basically electrical interferance from a faulty electrical appliance. Do you have anything that turns on at 6:50.
Just checked and the sun set at 6:44pm today, could be interference from faulty street lights.

Well I have finally discovered that the street lights comming on make my connection drop. I cannot believe that Krapoo can supply a service that is knocked out by street lights, water and leaves on the road Anyone got any advice on who's responsibility this now falls under?

At least you've solved it and can get it fixed properly Did a quick search and as far as I can find your council should be responsible for maintenance. (in my case east riding have site http://www.eastriding.gov.uk/atoz/details.aspx?id=454 ) So I'd give your council a ring and explain your getting interferance from the street lights, how close to your line are the lights?
